I upgrade my R8 with corsair vengnce 32gb(2x16gb) 3200. First boot didn't load the computer, then I reinserted it again before it booted. It auto XMP the ram so it saved me time though I missed the opening message when I was pressing F2. A don't think you missing anything if you upgrading to more ram unless your using a Ryzen cpu, but I would upgrade it to the max speed of 3200. The max the R8 can use is 64gb but that is overkill for an average user.

Due to the low support of aftermarket ram, it is highly recommended to use the validated memory modules only. Aftermarket memory modules might or might not work.
