Aurora R8, part migration to different case
Hello everyone, so I am thinking of migrating parts from my aurora r8 including my: i7-9700k, RTX 2080, 256GB m.2 SSD (for OS and some games for quick load times), and the 1TB 7200rpm HDD from my aurora to a new NZXT h510i case with an MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon. Will there be any issues booting with this setup? Like the windows watermark? or Difficulty booting without alienware hardware in place?
Thank you.

The windows 10 license follows the motherboard (it is digitally activated and activation status is retained on MS servers). It doesn't follow the hard drive. That being said it should still boot fine and work (you can, after all, install windows 10 without entering a key during installation) if you transfer it over, you will just likely lose activation status as soon as the hardware change registers.

Since it is an OEM license you cannot transfer it over since the key is locked to the motherboard hardware. That's the only issue I foresee, as long as you have a good power supply in the new case. you will also need a CPU cooler, as they are not necessarily just transfer over.
Also ensure you have good thermal paste, and a good thermal paste cleaning solution. I would recommend isopropyl alcohol 99% or more pure to remove thermal paste. Not to be confused with the common 50% or so that is often sold. For thermal paste I swear by Noctua NT-H2

No such thing as windows watermark
"MSI MPG Z390" will not have OEM BIOS SLP key so I recommend buying a full OEM system builder DVD while you still can and using a USB2.0 external optical drive to boot that DVD. Generic 10 PRO Key can be used to install but not to activate.
New OEM board will ask for a key.

You don't even need to enter that actually. Just select "I don't have a key" and it will install just the same (just like Windows 7). Either way you still need a valid key to activate.
