Exchange Alienware

If dell is offering to exchange my non-functioning pc with a newer refurbished one, and they ship me the newer PC, asking for me to send them the old, non-functioning one. What would happen if I were to take some components that I want to keep out of the pc before sending it. I mean, I would be getting my new refurbished pc, while they get my old one with some parts I wanted taken out. Can I do that?

See your original post for the answer in red. It's easy to miss when dell puts the answer in your original post.

IMO it is a really bad idea. You might end up paying for both computers. Laptops do not have any removable parts. It's all soldered to the board.
