New to gaming PCs
Hey,
Let me just start by saying I'm clueless when it comes down to the specs of computers, I've been recently wanting to purchase a gaming PC that can run current games with high graphics, VR ready and ready to play next generation games and have been looking at the alienware Aurora r9 and Aurora ryzen edition (or r8) but I'm stuck when it comes down to amd, Intel, nvidia, ryzen etc and I'm also read about a few overheating problems? I'm just not sure which model and what setup to go for please help!

It's easier to work backwards from a budget if you know that? Because the Alienware Aurora could go from $700 base to $5000 fully loaded.

@KJB. That's £1000-£1600 not sure in usd
That is about $2,000 USD.
Try to build an R8 for that budget. Make sure you get the liquid cooling option.

I interpret that the alienmasters are advising new Aurora customer to avoid R9 or Ryzen edition because of their mini case and stay in the mid tower of R8 which goes up to 9th gen cpu and can be coupled with all high end gpu. In terms of gaming the very high end intel cpu is sitll slightly better than Ryzen zen 2 but the Ryzen is an all around workstation cpu winner.

Thanks for the input il check the r8 out, wasnt sure about wether to get the ryzen or not but I like how incandescent build a better model from the r8

Thanks mate, I do a lot of video editing/music production aswell so il be using for that buy I di understand the r9 and r10 have heat issues is the r8 less prone to this?

Even the R8 has heat issue in the mid tower that could use mod to improve. For best cooling consider build your own in full tower case w customized liquid cooling including > 120 mm radiators etc., unless you are sold on Aurora led lighting which is then a different story.
