Awesome ! Yeah me too. I’ve learned to wait and let them review the product first and hopefully they didn’t cut no corners. I may be interested in upgrading to the 4090 machine and hopefully a 4090ti will be in the mix. Let’s wait for the reviews and test/benchmarking -cooling ect. My R11-10900KF and 3090 is still performing like a champ. I’m hoping Alienware gets back on the leader board again. Adults and heavy gamers buy these rigs too not just kids. We want the best for our money.

Wait wait wait .... .

I tried to configure an R15 with 64GB 5200 MHz, XMP AND an Nvidia 4090.....not possible. I can get a 4090 with 32GB of 4800MHz or I can get a 64GB 5200 MHz, XMP with a 3090 or 3090Ti.

Why does Dell make everything so much more complicated. Will they never learn?

OMG. Did Dell attempt to do something it should have done since the beginning?

Is that XMP I see and 5200 MHz. It's an improvement at least......

Began exploring this as an alternate to the 8950 in order to get the 13th Gen Intel.  Nice move to add the 2nd M.2 on the MB to match the 8950 but somehow it's only got 2 SATA ports instead of the 3 on the 8950.  Being able to have 5 internal storage devices is appealing to me in the 8950.

The reduction in SATA storage may be the result of the increased AIO radiator size to 240mm. If the XPS 8960 tries to cool the Raptor Lake processor with a 120mm AIO your 5 internal storage devices may melt.

How are you able to configure an R15 with a 4090 and XMP? The only setup I see is with a 4090 is the last preconfigured rig for $4499.99      Alienware Aurora R15 Gaming Desktop With Intel 13th Gen | Dell USA

Based on what happened with the R13 12900KF throttling issues, I am wondering if it might not be better to go with the 13900KF instead? So at least you get what you pay for.

I'd be happy to get one and put it through its paces for everyone to know if it's worth its weight, or if it's a R13 with new clothing.  Anyone wanna send me some donations? lol

I would wait for independent review(s). I would for sure be weary about the motherboard used, as in what capabilities it does not have. And of course it still looks like it relies heavily on the OEM form factor.

I think with the current pricing of components those who have the skills are better off putting their own system together from retail components.

Exactly, you can't. That was my point. The way they have it setup right now is you can pick either the 4090 OR XMP memory, but not both. Hopefully this is a temporary config block.

Depends on what you can put together for $3900 plus tax.

That's true but I bet with current prices for the CPU, GPU, PSU and RAM you will be pushing  near the price of the R15 with similar components. The only benefit is they will be standard parts. Tom's listed the current price of the RTX 4090 and that's IF you can find one at $1900. Scalpers are selling them for $2500 and more. That's why I mentioned that with current discounts the R15 is not such a bad deal. With Slickdeals coupons applied I got the max R15 config down to $3900 plus tax

I am already a bit leery about the new offering based on the information in the specs sheet:

If you are using a 1350 W Power-Supply Unit (PSU), connect the power cable to a Power Distribution Unit
(PDU) 16 A, and then connect the PDU to the wall outlet.

The input current for that PSU is rates at 16 A according to the specs. Regular outlet in North America is 15 A and you are only supposed to load it up to 80% of it's rated capacity, which is 12 A.

I foresee some issues with this PSU because of this 16 A spec.

If you go to ibuypower or CyberPowerPC you can get a "better" computer for around the same price. It will also not be proprietary. Dell makes things a tougher sell...even when they try.
