Upgraded Processor of Aurora R2, No Post Screen, No Beep Codes

Hello.  I have a standard model Alienware Aurora R2, and I recently upgraded my processor to an Intel Core i7-860 2.80GHz 8MB Socket Quad Core Processor CPU, and upon boot I get no post to the monitor, and no beep codes.

It seems as though some others have had to change bios settings to fix similar issues with Alienware models, but I don't have the options they do in my bios.

Thoughts?

(All hardware is in working condition, and it boots up fine with the old processor)

Hi @NicoleEG,

Make sure you have the latest BIOS version of the system.

Sorry I meant to mention the bios is the newest version available, though that version was released in 2010, which makes me nervous, but the manual says it can handle this CPU.

Just to be safe, I downloaded the newest bios, and it said 'current version is the same version' message.

I verified absolutely everything about compatibility that I could.  Should work, unless there's something I'm not seeing.

Clock Speed: 2.80Ghz Number of Cores: 4
Processor Type: Intel Core i7-860 Socket Type: LGA1156

Into an Aurora R2.  Says it should work.  Is there bios settings I need to change?

Also, I tried resetting bios to default, and I tried it with different newer ram that wasn't the stock Alienware ram and it still did not work.
