X51 R2 will not post after RAM upgrade

Hi everyone,   I recently tried to upgrade the RAM in my Alienware x51 R2.  I removed the stock ram and replaced it with this.  The machine did not post and gave me two beeps.  I removed the new RAM and replaced it with the old 4G sticks.  Now the machine will either give two beeps or give a single beep and power cycle continuously.   I've tried the old sticks in all of the slots.  The machine fails to boot no matter what configuration I put the RAM in.  I tried unplugging the CMOS but that didn't work either.  My next step is to clean the old sticks and the slots as best I can.   Does anyone know what might have happened?  How bad is it?  Thanks in advance!

Did you unplug the PC and discharge flea power before swapping RAM. Also, remember to push the sticks all the way into the slot.
