2012 Aleinware m 17x problem

Question

So I finally got the money I need to buy my computer today which is a 2012 m17x and alienware raised the price on the old ones by $400 dollors...why? I went to build my computer and options are disappearing and now I cant even afford it, why did the old ones go up in price when the new ones just came out? If any Dell or Alienware forums rep can give me some kind of good answer that would be great cause im not spending $400 more for an older version with less options, that makes no sense. I need to know if these prices are coming back down or not.

I just looked and the m17x are more then the 18x? why is it so high? and please don't tell me to buy the new alienware 17 because it is so ugly and I don't want it.
