7.1 Surround Sound PC Systems
Anyome using 7.1 on their PC? Any suggestions on components or a complete 7.1 system? Any advice is appreciated Thanks Tony Flaris

The on-board is fine. You wont notice any difference with a dedicated board.
Use the money saved to purchase a top end set of speakers and save the PCI slot for something more useful. I use the Bose companion 5 series and am very satisfied. If you want speakers for loud music there are other choices. The Bose also has surround sound capability and are great for movies without the extra speakers spread out around the room.
