AC Adapter currently connected is not supported?
Hey, well yeah I've had my M17x R3 for a while now, and whenever I boot the laptop I get a message that says something like "AC Adapter currently connected is not supported, connect a Dell AC Adapter for optimal performance", I can't remember exactly what it says, but it's similar to that. I thought I had fixed the problem when it first occurred last month, by removing the battery and adapter and putting them back in.
I have tried almost everything. I'd be more than happy to provide more details on this issue if anyone can help me out. :/

Unfortunately, that didn't work.

ReeceRox2,
* Unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery from the laptop
* Hold the PC power button for 30 seconds
* Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter
* Restart the PC and press F2 to enter the BIOS
* While in the BIOS, disconnect/reconnect the AC adapter
* Exit the BIOS and enter Windows

Nobody from Alienware or Dell seems to even want to help me with this problem. Is that because you guys can't fix the problem? Because that's what it seems like to me.

I have emailed the Team to look over this thread. It may not be until tomorrow that I get any responses.

Did you try booting into the Bios, press F9 to load System Defaults, press F10 to Save and Exit?

If this just started all of a sudden ... it likely means the little tiny center pin is not making contact any more. Or maybe one part is bad.

This has happened before many times, and it returned to normal afterwards. But now it seems like the problem is persisting.

Yes, I tried that too.
If I was going to buy a new AC adapter, do I need to get the same one as the one I have now? Or can I buy a different one as long as it's 240W?

What is the 20 digit alpha-numeric number on the AC adapter?

There appears to a 23 digit one, if that's what you're after. CN-0J211H-48661-17M-1SPZ-A02.

You should replace both of these -
J211H 240w/210w Delta AC adapter
5120P Power Cord 6FT

Thanks Chris. Can these be bought directly from Dell? If so, could you provide links?
