I'm not sure, but isn't this the new A12 update:

I hope that this will fix the issue, I'm going to install and test it out tommorow.

I'll post the results here.

Yes, that's the fix, I created a thread to announce the release, check it out:

Let me know how it goes.

First of all, thank you for replying to my question.

Well, the first time I played on battery (Game: Dishonored), I was able to play till it the end of the

battery load from 100% on, but as mentioned those games just radically shut my M14x down.

I'll try your idea, but what do you exactly mean because when gaming my Nvidia is already chosen as default.

Edit: By Optimus Software, do you mean the Nvidia Settings? What do I do?

Testerbongo,

On battery you are using the onboard Intel GPU, not the discrete Nvidia GPU. You can overrule this design by opening the Optimus software and telling it to run the discrete Nvidia GPU but the battery charge will be very short. You should be gaming with the AC adapter plugged in.

Hi Tessterbongo,

I think what Chris means by Optimus software is the Nvidia Control Panel, here's an article that explains how to change the settings properly:

Correct set-up of games on NVIDIA Optimus Driver

But I'm not sure that will fix your issue, it is still under investigation. In the following thread, m15chief came up with a great workaround:

Thank you for your answer, I'm living in Europe so this we'll be my last reply

for the next few hours(till I'm back online) but I just want to quickly answer.

1. This is just the way I understood Chris but I think those settings are

generally a requirement to play high quality games. Yes games are set to discrete gpu.

2. I also already mentioned that I tried the partial fix by that I mean exactly this

method to downclock your cpu to 75% (see my first post)

It would be nice if you could suggest me a proper guide on how to solve the issue or at least

help me maybe understanding it a bit better, what should I do? (In the meanwhile I really tried a lot)

The issue is currently under investigation, we will post as soon as we get that sorted out. Right now, there is no fix other than gaming only on AC adapter.

How long could that possibly take to get the issue fixed? (I'm patient and can wait but just that I know maybe how

long this whole thing could take)

Where will you/DELL post it, how can I stay up to date?

P.S.: Thanks for the answer but somehow it's weird that my machine/battery is not able to keep up with my hardware

Hi Testerbongo,

I just heard back from our engineering department and the fix for this issue will come in the new BIOS A12 that should be released soon. We will post here when the BIOS is released, but it would also be a good idea for you to check the drivers in support.dell.com on a weekly basis.

Ok, so I tested it yesterday and I couldn't find any problems so far.

As it seems, the fix ist stable and working properly.

Thanks again for the support.
