AWCC 3.5 and 3.6 on Alienware Aurora R4 ALX
Good Afternoon
I have attempted to update the Alienware Control Center rev A02 to A04 when this update is done , the mio firmware is updated 2.02.00 to 4.02.00 but when the flashing is done the AlienFX shut down.
After restart the AlienFX don't function but is detected as running and in AWCC Temp sensors is 0 .
reinstall the same versions don't change anythings . AlienFX tester fail.
Only reinstall of rev A02 version which downgrade the mio firmware 4.02.00 to 2.02.00 reactivate the AlienFX and Temp sensors .
I have the BIOS A11 and Windows 7 with all updates.. Yes I make resistance with new Windows versions .
How this can be explained ?
P.S : In HWMonitor the Temp are correct

1. Sorry, can't really help with your problem (since I have Aurora R1). I'm running Win7-64 Ultimate SP1 on this machine, so my Command-Center is frozen at 2.8.9.0. As expected, the MIO-Board's firmware is v2.02.00 . All works fine.
2. It might help if you talk about actual CC versions ... not A?? releases.
3. Good catch. You might be the first to notice this.
4. Glad you were able to back-flash MIO-Board without bricking it.
5. Oh, that explains it. With Win7-64 ... last compatible version of CC is v2.8.9.0 .

You answer is correct for Alienware Aurora R1, the Alienware Aurora R4 has not the same mio board than R1 . mio bord 2jxp2
In the dell driver download , the actual and last CC for Windows 7 64 bits is the V3.6.5.0, A04 . Before last is Version 3.5.10.0, A03-00 . both versions use the new 4.02 firmware for the mio board and are compatible win7 64 bits in Aurora R4 .
The version 2.8.9.0 is the initiate versions for supporting Aurora R4 .
In the CC the ambient sensors are right temp sensors or make summary of multiple temp sensors ?
This screen has been shot with v2.8.9.0 of CC, and UC at 12 % we seen the difference between data form CC and Hwmonitor. The fans are controlled by CC or BIOS ? Because if CC are wrong Temp ........
With Prime95 bechmark , UC 100 % , TMPIN0 = 95°C ,it is correct for Alienware watercooling ?

Just because it has a different DPN, doesn't mean it's a different part. And even if slightly different or newer rev, I doubt a functional difference.
On Win7-64, drop back to v2.8.9.0 and it will work. Why are you trying to go above that anyway?
