After cleaning and re-applying thermal paste, computer lost connection.
I have owned my alienware x51 r2 for a little over a year. While cleaning out my case and the fans, I ended having to replace my thermal paste. So I cleaned off the heat sink and processor and applied a small bead in the middle of the heat sink. Made sure everything was connected and there was no mess. But when I went to get back on, it said hdmI no signal. After reseating everything and making sure it was all plugged in, I tried a bios restart. Now the bios start screen comes up that has the alien head and the press f12 and whatnot, but it doesn't go to windows nor am I able to hit f12 or for to view the system details. Then, if i turn it off and back on, I end up with a hdmi no signal again. So, did I completely mess up my computer like and idiot? Or is this fixable?

Re-seat everything.
Check Power-Supply and voltages.
Power-Dissipate, Reset CMOS, pull coin-battery, etc.
Can x51-r2 run without big video card (use in-board IGP)?
Get machine as simple as possible. If that works, work your way back to original config.
... Yeah it happens. Even skilled technicians with formal training know it ... Any time you work on a computerized machine, you are taking a chance it get worse ... even while doing routine maintenance.

Oh, and try a different monitor and cable ... maybe a LCD on DVI or VGA.
