Alien FX for Keyboard Questions
I have some questions about my alienware Tactx keyboard...
Does anyone know if it is mechanically possible for this keyboard to change the color of keys: individually or by row? (are there individual or rows of LEDs behind keys)
If it is does anyone know how to make it work this way?
Does anyone know if I can make the keys flash, blink, or change brightness?
Does anyone know how I can make the LEDs turn off when my screensaver comes on?

Hi IHAVEAQUESTION2232, you can use the Alienware Command Center Application to set up a theme and get the keys flash or blink as you desire. However the keys can not be set up individually, the keyboard is divided in different lighting zones.

Thank you for your reply. I can't seem to figure out how to use the command center to get the keys to blink or flash though.

My Command Center looks different... I don't have a color wheel and I only see my Tactx Keyboard, with two zones - one for the controls and the other for the keys.

We need some clarification. Is the TactX external keyboard connected to a Dell Alienware computer?
Are you in Basic or Advanced mode in the Command Center?
Open the Control Panel Add/Remove or Programs and Features and tell us what version of the Command Center is installed.

That version was for our laptops. Did you download it from our website? Or did you load it from the CD that came with the TactX keyboard?

Downloaded it from your website... the CD came with version 1. something, someone reccomended to see if there was an update so I checked and found that version... it didn't change anything though, everything still looks the same and operates the same as it did before. I'm guessing that's because it was a version for laptops.

The version is 2.5.54.0. And I am in the advanced mode. No, it is not connected to a Dell Alienware computer.

We have no way of knowing how are OEM Alienware Command Center will function on a non-Dell system. You should try this 2.8.9.0 desktop version.
* Make sure the Microsoft .net 4.0 is installed
* Remove the current Command Center
* When done, restart the system
* Install 2.8.9.0
If that does not work, that shows us that the Command Centers offered for Laptops and Desktops are not going to work on this non-Dell system. You should remove it and only load the Command Center from the CD that came with the keyboard.

Ok, I tried that driver, and an error message appears when it tries to install saying that it is incompatible with my system. So, because I do not own a dell alienware computer the features of my tactx keyboard are just going to be limited? Sorry, I meant that version, which also came with a driver. Also, thank you for the replies.

It does appear based on our testing of files that it is limited.
