Alienware 13 R2 no back-light in win 10 after update
When I turn my laptop on the screen back-light works and I see the Alienware logo, but as soon as windows starts to boot the back light shuts off. At first I thought it crashed, but if you look close to the screen you can see the icons and windows, just no light. When I plug it into my TV via HDMI everything works fine on the TV, but still no light from the laptop. I disabled the Intel Graphics from the system manager, and rebooted the laptop. After that everything booted fine and the back-light worked... well almost, for some reason with the Intel Graphics disabled, the laptop wouldn't recognize the Nvidia gpu. So then i did a reboot with the backup image I made when I first got the laptop. Everything worked and seemed great, I ran the windows update, and as soon as it was done the back-light shut off and now I'm back to square one. Any help would be great.

Everything was working fine until last Sunday the 29 of jul. When I booted up the laptop that day windows just said "installing updates" then the screen went black. Sorry didn't check what was getting updated. I did try uninstalling the Intel graphics drivers and installed the one on the Alienware support page, but it didn't fix anything. I have also tried rolling back some drivers, but every time I do windows 10 home auto updates the... Gosh I miss the "disable auto update* options of win 7

Yes I rolled back all my drivers to my Jan 2017 backup and everything worked fine until I logged onto my wifi, 10 min later they updated and my screen went dark. I am looking into wushowhide now, it sounds like it may be a good temp fix.

1. After you do that, does it start working for a little while?
2. Still possible with wushowhide:

You can run a system restore back to before the updates were run (if you have a restore point), otherwise you'll need to go back to factory settings and disable auto updates. Here is an article that will show you how to do that in Windows 10.

I wanted to thank everyone for the help, i have got it working. so what I did to fix it was; I started by following Eimy advice and did a system restore back to factory settings, and registry edit to block updates. I then manually updated each driver one at a time, once I got to the Intel HD Graphics 520 the screen blacked out; so I plugged the laptop in to my TV via HDMI, rolled the HD Graphics 520 driver back to version 20.19.15.4312. after that I used tesla1856 tip and blocked the driver from updating with wushowhide. I hope this helps any one else who might run into a similar problem.
