Alienware 14 keyboard issue

I have an Alienware 14.  Certain keys on the keyboard have stopped working: TAB, Backspace, L Shift, CAPS Lock.

Service tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>.  A USB keyboard has no issues, only the laptop keyboard has the malfunctioning keys.  I tried updating the BIOS, no affect.

the laptop was already out of the warranty date, so I ordered a new keyboard, and replaced it.  This did not fix the malfunctioning keys.

Has there been any more insight to this problem?  is there any remedy?  I would like to use the laptop without an external keyboard.

Hi,

Its hard to say what may be the problem, it could be something with the motherboard. When we have an issue like this, we recommend sending the system to our repair facility so our technicians can diagnose and fix the issue. Was the replacement keyboard identical to the original keyboard?

yeah, it was an identical keyboard.  i was hoping not to send the laptop away, but i also do not want to be buying assorted parts hoping it fixes the problem!
