Alienware 15 9-In-1 Media Card Reader
Hi,
I'm a little confused.
I've a new Alienware 15 and it seems like a very nice Laptop.
When you are buying it , it says External Chassis Connections 9-in-1 Media Card Reader.
The Laptop has a SD card reade onlyr.
The pictures also only show an SD Card Reader.
Why isn't there a 9-in-1 Media Card Reader?
Kind Regards
Fergal

Hello,
That media reader is on the right side of the chassis. If you take a look at the Quick Start Guide for that model, it's listed as #16 on the drawing.
That reader will handle 9 different types of media cards. Most pictures, etc., of those card readers show SD cards as those tend to be the most popular, and thus most used, types of media. The reader may not be apparent or easy to spot as it comes with a plastic insert that protects the port when not in use.

Hi Todd,
Maybe I misunderstand. Yes there is an SD card reader.
Can that reader read 8 other different types of card other than an SD card?
What are those other 8 types?
Is it just all varieties of SD card, eg SDHC, MiniSD in a SD, Wifi SD card, XD etc
I'd have thought a 9 in 1 would read min-sd and CF Flash cards
Kind Regards

Hi,
From what I found, these are the card formats that reader will handle:
