Alienware 15 laptop wont detect monitor

Hello,

I just got the latest Alienware 15 laptop and the Dell U2715H monitor. I tried the following connections:

- HDMI (out) to Display Port (in)

- HDMI (out) to Mini Display Port (in)

The Alienware laptop will not detect the monitor, any suggestions?

My older Alienware laptops all have the MiniDS out, this is the first time I bought an Alienware with only an HDMI out. 

I toggled the monitor setting (on the monitor) between DS and mDS.

I tried the monitor on other devices and it works fine.
