Alienware 17 3D support

Hello Experts,

Does Alienware 17 (2013 model) convert 2D content to 3D and display. If yes, what are the settings.

Would you mind clarifying your question a little more?

The 17 does have 3d support, but there are no specific programs done by Alienware that will convert 2d content to 3d content. However, cyberlink and other programs and apps can help you display the 3d content.

Hello PHOENIXBENNU,

Thanks for the quick answer.

Let me brief my question. When buying this laptop, I was told by customer care that this lappy can convert 2d content to 3d and display. You mean this is not possible by any means? I was watching(with 3D nvidia glasses) few 3d videos in youtube, they were also not seen 3D.

Can you please add some more details about your comment  "cyberlink and other programs and apps can help you display the 3d content".

Thank you !

There are many programs and services that will convert 2d into 3d with varying degrees of success. The best 3d content, is content that was shot with a 3d camera or made specifically to work with 3d, such as with video games having 3d settings.

However, Alienware does not have a specific program made by alienware or dell to turn 2d content into 3d. Dell primarily provides the laptop with the 3d screen. Cyberlink is a common program sold with Dell systems and is also a very highly regarded application and company. Cyperlink does many things, and should already be installed on your system.

The following video might be of help :)
