Alienware 17 R2 (2015) Command Center 4 - TactX error
I have recently purchased an Alienware 17 and I cannot configure the Macro keys with the TactX tab in the Command Center software from Alienware.
Both when I open the laptop and when I click on the TactX Tab in the AW software, I get this message:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at AlienLabs.Keypad.Domain.Classes.ProfileManagerHolderClass.get_IndependentKeys()

at AlienLabs.Keypad.Controller.ControllerMainForm..ctor()

In the Command Center error, I also get another window with the following messages:
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have reinstalled the AW CC4 software and still get the same issue. After clicking OK on the error screens, the software crashes instantly.
Does anybody else have the same issue?
I have tried to report this to the support team, but the button shoves me to the Service Tag detection website which backfires for me because I get a message saying that my service tag is incorrect. I am waiting for an answer to this on the next question thread.

Try to uninstall the command center and the Tactx software shut down the system and perform a power drain then install the Tactx software and the command center.
Let me know if that help you fixing the issue.

I have tried that and it is still the same. I get the same error message when I start Windows and again the same when I try to activate the TactX tab in the Command Center.

I started having that problem today, after I cleared out my User/Documents directory (because Tactx and other programs were complaining about permissions in there).
I don't have a solution, but this is one way to cause the problem.

if you have the software for the tactx this would actually work or for the alienware 17 r2 but this does not solve my problem

we need the software which is non-existent anywhere update your software so we can uninstall it and re-install
