Alienware 17 R3 FREEZING on AC
My Alienware 17 R3 is now randomly LOCKING UP randomly about once per day on AC. When I unplug the power for a second the system becomes responsive again. Any idea what could be causing this?
I have run all the system tests and passed them all.

Overheating. Unplugging lowers performance and CPU stops throttling down to 800 mhz to try to cool down.

Thanks but it happens regardless of temps. It is completely random. It occurs even when PC is idle and temps are in the 40s. At the same time I can be doing intensive gaming for hours and it doesn't happen. I am wondering if it has something to do with power delivery. I think I can safely rule out overheating as the PC unfreezes if I plug out the adapter for even 1 second.
If heating was the cause it would throttle down again each time, but the freeze occurs just once on average each day.

In windows 10 specifically there are parameters that cause lockups. PCI-E Sleep is one and hard drive sleep is another they are set default at 10 to 20 minutes any of these set to 480 minutes. Disable Hibernation Set High performance all the time whether on AC or Power.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg
Change to HIGH Performance and Change plan settings to STOP USB power off STOP PCI-E power off
STOP Screen power off for 480 minutes instead of 10.
