Alienware 17 R3 will not boot. Three Beeps and Blank Screen.

Well finally got time to actually turn on my new Alienware R3 With Windows 10 factory fresh and when I

turned it on I get 3 beeps, a short pause, and 3 beeps over and over, plus the screen is blank.

I read that means a memory problem?

Hi,

Three beeps on this model means: Possible system board failure - Chipset error.

Try the steps on this article:

www.dell.com/.../SLN301252

If the issue persists, then the motherboard needs to be replaced. Let me know if you need something else!

That is a HDD error. So, you can reset the HDDs and if the system gets into windows, then update the Bios to the latest. If after the HDD's reset the system is still not booting, a part needs to be replace.

Hi Bud,

I did manage to get into Windows, and setup all those privacy settings and I still need go over some more

and then connect the Router, activate windows and update the bios to 1.3.6, 1.3.6 right?

I have 1.2.8 that came with the system. The F12 diagnostics were very slow and buggy also.

Do those steps seem ok or am I missing something?

Also, if you can find me a detailed list of what the Bios settings do that would be great.

The system is currently set to boot UEFI mode.

Hi Eimy,

I am getting four beeps now and a blank screen.

Getting very frustrated at this point.

Brand New machine made in August, turn it on and get 3 beeps and blank screen.

I don't understand why it shipped with a bad bios version which was 1.2.8 from March.

It should have had the version from August. I just don't get it.

Anyway, that's what I have at this point.

Been doing a lot of running around as my Mom took a bad fall outside

and in the Hospital so I will be going back and forth.

I will check emails when I can, got up early to write you to get it out of the way.

Hi Eimy,

Well it's been close to 3 weeks that I unboxed the AW R3 and turned it on for the first time and got the beeps and blank screen and then moms fall 3 days later.

Still running around a lot, Marco Venegas said that you are going to take care of everything I need from now on. Wanted to touch base with you as to what steps are going to be involved working around all these Doctor appointments and so much more. Been very hectic here but I do need to get something going. Also it's hard using this forum to post, I tried replying to the automated emails I get from you on

Gmail but it seems to have some issues getting back to here.

Please get back to me with the return process details so I can try and see how I can do all this.

Using this forum and being forced to reply from messages you send to our gmail is somerhing

we never had to go through.

I was supposed to rest up 10 hours ago and be sleeping now.

In five hours I have a lot I was going to do, but cant due to replying to your one paragraph question.

Wednesday Doctor Appointments.

Why should a brand new system DOA have to be fixed instead of replaced ??

This is the second DOA sent, I'm sorry 3rd. 4th? Renew warranty twice. 30 plus remote

sessions, 4,5,6,7 depot that came back not fixed....

So fed up I cant sleep.

I have been on here since last night and need to get this thing replaced.

We don't need a beeper.

Whats the problem AGAIN !

WE were  forced to get Win 10 and an DVD drive swinging around and taken up two of 3 usb ports.

BTW is still in the box.
