Alienware 17 R3 wont turn on. At first the alienware button icon would light up but nothing else. Now its totally dead. I tried draining the system power. Did not work... I also reset the bios... did not work.

Also wanted to add there were no signs the battery was going bad. I have had it for 1 year 8 months.

Remove main large run-battery for 24 hours. Press power button a few times during those hours. Then try it.

Well the problem with that is I would have to take apart the entire laptop in order to remove the battery, really bad design in my opinion.... battery is literally under the motherboard, I suppose I could unplug the batty cable from the motherboard and get the same affect.

Sounds like this is your first time to did it in a way that has any chance of working. Go ahead and press Power button a few times to dissipate all flea-power and then re-plug battery after an hour-or-so.

Yes, that is the way it works.

Some UltraBooks have a tiny electronic switch, but it usually doesn't work (or really do the same thing) so you have to unplug the main battery connector anyway.

The AC adapter seems fine as well, I actually have it plugged into this laptop.

Hi ‌,

If the system has warranty you can send me a private message with the service tag so I can assist you with this.

Ok so I just did one more try at reseting the cmos, and after doing it this time I held the power button for a few seconds and the light actually came on this time, the alien head power button would go from a pinkish purple to blue, then back. it was 1 for 1 pinkish/purple to blueish. I cannot for the life of me find ANYTHING on this color or number ratio. Everything I have read that gives a code is 2:1 or more.... any idea what this is ?
