Alienware 17 screen problems SOS

Hello fellow dell community , i was fortunate to find a recycled alienware 17 (2014) with some missing ram and screen problems, the screen whenever booted it was distorted ans cannot clearly read what is displayed , so i plugged my hdmi cable on to the tv and diagnosed that the screen is the problem. So i ordered a replacement screen and i still have the same problem, may be minor improvements like for a millasecond the display works fine , in order to use the laptop i have to let it boot so it can stsrt displaying in my tv, i tried running diagnosics by pressing d and turning on the computer , it would beep 8-9 times then proceed to display rgb colors, i tried holding down function and turning on the computer and it would beep run some tests but unreadable due to the moniter, im assuming it might be a loose cable, defective mobo or videocard , can someone please let explain how i can figure out whats wrong and if it is worh fixing? Thanks Geforce gtx 765m intel i7 4700mq deployed : feb 7, 2014, service tag jpjcvz1

Hi,

Just to confirm, when you connect it to your TV with an HDMI cable and you let it boot, does it function properly after that? Is your video card recognized properly once it boots?

i also managed to press d during start up, didnt beep displayed the rbg and shutdown after, while i held function to do testing on the laptop that worked, barely visible but it ran stress test on cpu and ect and didnt detect anything wrong under the screen section

hi rodrigo, thank you for a quick response, yes on my tv the computer looks fine, and yes the computer recognized the video cards while i press function and f4 to switch the display, it looks fine on the tv and when i right click on desktop i have acsess to nvida control panel as well with intel while a switch it to other mode it dosent give me the option to the video settings, no problems what so ever on the tv, i tried changing the refresh rate to 40hz on the new screen, minor improvments but same problem, i wonder if the new screen i purchased got damaged during shipping but i do not know, if you need any other info please let me know
