Alienware 18 Delayed Twice, no notification, and unhelpful support

I ordered an Alienware 18 on the 16th of February, I upgraded everything on it. Went all out.

All totaled it was around $3800 after shipping and tax.

The original Delivery date was the 26th of February, which worked well because I am deployed, and only going to be home for a couple of weeks.

On the 25th of February, the order status still said 'In Production', so I called and was told they were waiting on a part. The next day the delivery date had been updated to the 4th. Which is only another week, so that's fine if they were waiting on a part.

Today is the 4th, and again the date has been updated, this time to the 14th, another 10 days. And again, I called and was told something vague about awaiting a part.

I am currently on hold with dell support trying to get some form of resolution, but I am not hopeful. I cannot accept another delay as I will no longer be home on leave, and I can't ship the laptop to where I'm going.

Update: The gentleman on the phone told me he spoke with someone and confirmed that Dell Has received the part and that it will be assembled and shipped out as soon as possible. Again, this being the second delay, I don't know whether to believe him or not.

Help me Dell! Can I get someone to confirm solidly when the heck I'm going to get my order?

PM Sent. I just need to know that what I was told over the phone (that they have the part now and it will definitely be here on or before the current estimated delivery date)

Hi,

We are very sorry you had to experience this inconvenience with your order. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do to speed up the process if a required component is in back order, we have to wait for it to become available. We can check on the status of the order, for assistance with this, send me your order number in a PM.

No doubt this is the 980M SLI that is missing. It sold out quite fast.

This should be a wake up call to Alienware and Frank Azor to continue to the 18, even if it means using a soldered processor, to battle the MSI GT80.

I'm loving my 18 with 980M SLI.
