Alienware 18 - Driver support

Good day,

I am not sure how others are doing for driver support, but I often find old or out of date drivers. Currently I have 2 drivers that do not function as they should and I cannot get answers anywhere's to as how to resolve them.

The first issue is with the sound driver that has been an issue for at least half a year with no patch. When playing a game with music running in the background from a browser, your browser volume will lower itself when the game starts and then spike in volume once the game is finished. No settings that I tested fixed this issue.

Secondly, I cannot connect my chromecast to my HDMI IN port. It is not the chromecast, and it is not my hardware. My laptop detects the chromecast and I get black screen flickering when it plugged in. I tried using an app and got "Out of range", and when I use FN +F9 during the black screen it says "HDMI off"; meanwhile the computer is trying to display it. Only on a first run or a factory reset it will fully display for the first 1-3 minutes of installation. Nvidia themselves released an unofficial fix, however, I am using AMD.

I would write the drivers myself, however I do not know how to. If I could get any fixes for this I would appreciate it.

Update:

I believe I found a fix to the sound, however, it disables enhancements in general; I could probably find a way to set a profile. The HDMI Input issue still exists however, and I found no fix. The chromecast community does not have any solutions themselves as it is not on there end.

Edit: it seemed to work, but I was wrong. Sound reducing still exists.
