Alienware Alpha Brand New flashing amber light

Hi

I have a brand new Alienware Alpha i7 (less than a week old). This morning I turned it on and it would not boot up. It has a flashing amber light and that is all I get. I have tried power drain, removing all attached devices (mouse, keyboard, monitor) and it will not boot up. I see this appears to be quite an issue with these machines. Please let me know steps to take from here.

Regards

Im having the exact same problem with the same machine. Computer is only a few weeks old. Ive done the power drain which fixed the issue the first time. But it occured again and now a power drain does nothing.

Same problem. Had the machine less time than I waited for it to ship and am greeted with the blinking yellow light also. It will work eventually if I leave the power supply unplugged for a few hours, and as long as I never turn it off its fine.

Do you have it connected straight to the power outlet?

If you do, please send us an email to AWSocialMedia@dell.com. We'll help out as much as we can from there. Please include your service tag and a brief description of the issue.

In regards to mine, I had tried it connected straight to a power outlet and via a power board. Nothing worked. I have taken it back to the retailer and had my money refunded. $1400 for a machine that booted up 3 times and then no more is nowhere near good enough. To be honest I am bitterly disappointed as I was so excited to get this machine. I bought Alienware laptops for both my sons 3 years ago and they were/are brilliant. This has left quite a bitter taste now and makes me quite hesitant to purchase another machine. Sad really as I have been a huge advocate of Alienware machines. I even talked a few work colleagues into purchasing them.
