Hi, I have just purchased the Steam OS version of the R2, but have discovered that many of the games I want to play will only work on a Windows based machine. I have a Windows 10 home and premium key and would like to load windows onto the Alpha R2 Steam machine. I know its basically a normal computer and could load windows onto it and then install hive mind and other drivers. To save a lot of messing around is there anyway I could download the Windows 10 based recovery disK mentioned above as my service tag is for Steam OS recovery disk. I imagine I just need the service tag of a Windows based R2 machine to complete the download. I also understand that my machine won't have a windows key embedded in the system bios, but that is alright as I have Windows 10 keys.
The other question I have, is that the graphics amplifier port is covered on the Steam R2 version, but still sits on the motherboard and would be usable under windows. Is there anyway to get hold of a back plate for my R2 so the graphics amplifier is exposed and usable as other than that I imagine it could be careful cut out of the back plate using a model knife or something.
Thank you so much, been struggling with dell support, couldn't understand why they didn't have an copy of the software. Both installation installed perfectly. Last question would it be possible to request for a image recovery from Alienware ?
