Alienware Aurora ALX HDD Raid problem
Hi
I have an Aurora ALX with 2x 1TB HDD in Raid 1 (Mirror) configuration, Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bits an Intel Rapid Storage app.
Both HDD are completly new (1 TB Segate with 4K sector).
The problem that I'm having is that sometimes when I turn on the computer, the Raid group appears to be damaged and the Intel app need to verify and repair the Raid group.
As I mentioned I alredy replaced both HDD (they are the same) and the problem continues.
I'm not sure what is the cause of the error but I think is something related to Windows and the shutdown process, because when the computers turn on offer the option to start windows in safe mode.
The computer has the lates BIOS and all the drivers appears to be OK.
Any help wold be great.
Please let me know if you need any additional info.
Thank you.

I suggest you break RAID and clean install Windows to Drive-1. Install Acronis or similar (or use Windows Image Backup) and Image system regularly and/or backup to Drive-2.
If you also want speed, install a SSD as C:
SSD - OS and main programs
HDD 1 - Other programs and large game installs
HDD 2 - Backups and partition Images

Hi.
This is not the kind of answers that I'm looking for. I have a HW (Raid Controller) and I want to use it to protect my data.
Thank you for your post

If you get a virus or corrupt a file, it gets copied over the good copy on the RAIDed drive instantly.
An Imaged Partition Backup, or straight-file-copy backup of the files (created when things were going good) is better. Google it if you don't believe me. You also take a speed penalty for RAID-1. Just trying to help.
