Alienware Aurora Desktop Motherboard Replacement
The motherboard on my Aurora desktop needs to be replaced.I was upgrading the processor and droped the new chip into the slot where the new chip goes and it bent some pins on the mb.I took it to my computer guy where I bought the chip from and he is going to try to straighten the pins, but he said it does not too good.Has anyone ever put a non dell MB into a Aurora desktop case with any sucess and still have all the lights, water cooling, and all the other stuff still work.If so,please post so I can let my computer guy know what board to get.A valued lesson was learnt from this,I should of let my computer guy put the cpu in and not mr. butter fingers me do it at home and mess it up.The Aurora desktop was bought new in 2010,it has a i7 960 3.20ghz Socket LGA1366 .Thanks.

Hi NIK111,
I'm going to move your message to the Alienware forum for more help. Is there some reason you don't want a replacement Alienware motherboard?

NIK111,
I have not seen any 3rd party motherboard that can run the Alienware software. Your best bet is to buy the Dell motherboard. Call Dell Spare Parts 1-800-357-3355 and ask for prices and availability. Provide to them the motherboard part number listed below.
