Alienware Aurora Discontinued

I priced out an Aurora and was possibly going to order it today after getting a few questions answered, but it seems to have disappeared from the products available.  Does anyone know what has happened?

I held off buying a new Aurora for 6 months now waiting for the refresh.  Glad it's happening so I can get a new baby.

I am assuming I will be able to return my old one for trade-in...[:D]

It's possible Area-51's inevitable debut demands the real estate on the web-site - or - they're timing the death of one for the birth of another, as your title suggests - or - both. A call to A-ware should settle the availability or obituary question.

**************

Edit: Gotta love the timing of this. Michael Dell, reminiscent of the Emperor ... basically this:

Vader: "What of the reports of the Rebel (R4) forces massing near Sulliste?"

Emperor Palpatine: "They are of no concern ... everything is proceeding exactly as I've foreseen ..."

(They may be temporarily making room for A-52, but why lose all the R4 sales for a desktop that isn't for sale yet?). But yeah, if R4 walks the plank shortly, no doubt they drop it right before Windows X hits the streets, so they can back out of all tech support, bios, drivers, a working Command Center ... same old same old, like r1/2/3 & A51 for Win 8; everything's proceeding exactly as the old man's foreseen. A spin on their corporate slogan of "Certainty In An Uncertain World". Creepy ...

The answer I got is ... because the Area-51 R2 is about to be released.

Thanks for the information guys.  I think I will wait a bit before buying to see what bugs exist.
