having waited it out, I've decided W10 is all around just too buggy to fool with right now, I haven't installed it yet, can't exactly help other than to bump your thread back to page one, where right now you should start to list the symptoms your Alien's having with CmndCntr, & maybe someone else can walk you through a probable fix. Post what version of CC you installed which is having the issue.
do lights change, but you get odd reportage of data like fan/temp, or did the fans ramp up & go hay-wire etc

Hi,
I have an Aurora R3 and use this version of the command center (I beleive you can get it via the R4 software downloads)
CommandCenter_2012_CC27250_setup_ZPE
Works fine.
As far as Windows 10 being "buggy". Nope, sorry it isn't. I upgraded on day one, had an issue with DCells USB 3.0 driver for the R3, I uninstalled that and installed the USB 3.0 driver meant for the R4 and it has been rock stable ever since.
Cheers

If someone has issues one their "unsupported on Windows 10" Dells, just go to the closest supported Dell hardware and use those drivers. Seems to work fine for me:-)

we have the Dell AlienClub forum here, but of course there is the Dell Windows 10 forum; I dare you to step in there & tell those early adopters that Windows 10 isn't buggy to the point of frustration:
Don't get me wrong, I installed W10 on a different pc, but a simple search of 'windows 10 issues' using google/bing --> the OS is ... ummmm ... buggy ... it needs the attention & helping hand of M$ plus more time for kinks to be worked out; until then it has issues across the board that need addressed, fixed, & they will be. I'm glad yours isn't buggy ... unfortunately it is for others. Again, take a survey of the Dell AlienClub & W10 forums for bug-checking ... that is what I referred to when I said 'buggy'.
Windows 10 Problems: Wait to Upgrade for Now
"For now, hold off on downloading Windows 10. The Windows 10 problems that I and others are seeing are too widespread to ignore. Bugs are one thing, not being able to check your email or activate your copy of Windows are another. Microsoft has some bugs and issues that they absolutely need to deal with before you go installing this on your machine. Give it a few more weeks, maybe Microsoft will have these issues sorted out by then".
New Dell on the Microsoft Forum
"I just bought a new Dell computer with Windows 10 installed. I click on "Mail" and my mail appears for a few seconds then disappears. I try to edit an event on my calendar and the calendar disappears. I recently spent a lot of money on RosettaStone software and windows will not install it without errors. Is there a way to re-download Windows 10 to see if that will work OR go download and install Windows 8?"
{brand new pc & W10's buggy; troubles have just started & they'll be fixed sooner or later}
Cheers

HHHmmmmm...you are right, I should have worded that differently. I should have said, "Windows 10 is not buggy for me."
However, I don't use Windows 10 they MS has intended. Cortana? Gone, MS's new fancy dancy start menu? Gone. Every piece of Metro garbage I could get rid of? All Gone. MS calling home? Gone.
I have uninstalled, tweaked and twerked everything that I could possible tweak and twerk to get rid of as much of MS's added in "features" as I could. I am currently waiting on some fine young programmer somewhere to come up with a ALL in one solution to uninstalling or turning off said features..like Cortana, bing search, Windows update sharing, the start menu (I use Start10 from Stardock-I don't care how much it cost but lets face it $10 is WELL worth it).
The people who are facing these "bugs" (with the exception of Windows phone users who can't really escape) are either A:) stubborn or B:) not very bright to expect ANY of them to work without bugs
----this is MS we're talking about right? Since when did MS EVER release a non-buggy piece of software? I've been around IT since MS was a new and upcoming "upstart" in the industry and I can tell you ALL of MS is buggy.
One thing I can say is this. With all the aforementioned "buggy" *** gone or turned off from Windows 10 it is fast and stable. I ran it for the first 2 weeks with no reboot and no issues. I have the professional version so I CAN defer upgrades for a period and have done so. Just out of curiosity I let the system upgrade itself and it, of course rebooted. After the reboot I checked all the "buggy" stuff I had uninstalled or turned off and everything stayed the same..nothing was reset. Good, good.
All I can say is it's stable for me and could be for others if they were willing to stop being so stubborn as to use this buggy software.
Cheers

Gideon, did u get your buggy CmndCntr issues ironed out?
An Area-51 R1 owner contacted me; after resuming from sleep, system fans went to 100%, full blast. 'Repairing' CmndCntr inside of 10 did not fix it. I advised to fall back on the Win7 image kept on another hard drive, a 'repair' of CmndCtr fixed the issue after the restart. Next, he booted into 10 & the issue disappeared.
I'll advise you like I advised everyone else in my Win10 Preview post: keep your working copy of 7/8 on its own hard drive. If issues arise, fall back on 7/8, 'fix' your mio/CmndCntr issues there, then boot into 10 & see if it worked.
In your attempts to upgrade to 10, do not wipe out your working 7/8. Clone 7/8 onto a different drive, then upgrade to 10 on it ... that way you can boot into your working 7/8 & test CmndCntr/MIO tandem in a proper environment, possibly cure the issue then have it working in 10. Maybe ...
If you cannot do that because you wiped out your 7/8, then get a new hard drive, reinstall 7/8 and have it there for test purposes. Dual-boot 7/8 & 10 using different drives to test for proper CmndCntr/MIO functionality between one OS & the other, got it?

This is the driver that resolved the reboot hang for me. It is from the Aurora R4 download. It is meant for Windows 7 64bit. USB 3.0 controller driver.
Not sure if it will help you at all but I found the link using my sons service tag. Either Dell doesn't let lnks be posted or I am to new here--not sure which it is. The link below has some obvious tampering. Remove the (space) and anywhere there is an actual gap in the URL is defined by TWO actual spaces..hopefully this works for you.
http (space) : // downloads(space) .dell .(space) com/FOLDER00375693M/ 6/USB3_Satori_W74_A00_Setup-1M22Y_ZPE (space) . (space) exe
I used it to resolved reboot hang issues with both Windows 8.1 64bit and Windows 10 64bit.
