Alienware CPU Liquid cooling and fans and PSU on new Motherboard
Hello. Would my Alienware Aurora R4 CPU Liquid Cooling and the fans and PSU inside go on a new motherboard that is inside a different case (Corsair Carbide Spec 03)? Because my Alienware Aurora R4 Case is too big and us taking up too much space and my office is small. I will be getting a different CPU as the motherboard I want is LGA1150. Will I have to get new Cooling and a new CPU? Thanks.

I sent u a private message covering your basic options regarding the Alien Kooler, find that info there, I only have a minute here, no time to copy/paste/edit in a full reply, but u do have options to re-use it. The Corsair case says it can house a (full) ATX form factor motherboard, so yes the Z97 MSI ATX board will fit. The original power supply chassis will fit, I assume the detachable harness cables will all reach, namely the sata hard drive part of it, you'll have to see for yourself if the sata connectors reach the hdd bays when the swap-over takes place. I would have no idea if the MIO & top powerboard strip & all the rest of the harnesses can be carried over, trial & error on your end, certainly.
From the sound of it, you have an option to someday buy a new kooler & power supply, put your Aurora case & all its parts back together & sell it to help pay for the new stuff.
My Aurora R4 kooler is being used on an Area-51 R1 motherboard. My radiator fan is plugged in up top @ the cpu_fan header, I have hand-made an adaptor for the kooler pump so it can plug into a chassis_fan header for pwr/ground with a secure proper connexion.
As a 'test', I took a free 7pin connector (the same as an Aurora pump), & 'forced it' onto my cpu_fan header. I suppose a person could get away with that so long as there is room. I do not have to since I've made an adaptor, nor do I recommend it over the long run as a solution (it's insecure).
note that same 7pin can not fit my chassis fan header.
A person like you has to survey the situation, since my mthrbrd & an MSI Z97 will have different layouts. Again, if you need a proper 7pin adaptor, contact me.
Edit: You will Need an Asetek Kooler Mounting Kit, also see my post later below:

There's no reason it shouldn't work as long as the mounting hardware works with your new setup.

Thankyou CJ for using the term 'mounting hardware'. I was very busy yesterday & totally did not remember that when changing Intel socket types, the liqwid kooler will need a new retention ring / mounting kit. Alienware koolers are built by Asetek, so in order to retrofit an Alien kooler onto a mthrbrd with a different socket, Asetek sells direct to the public through their eBay store; an R4 uses a socket 2011, that MSI Z97 uses a socket 1150, you will need an skt 1150 mounting kit, here:

I'm on the clock, only have a second to goof-off. No Skype, no twitter, can't post my email here, but until your message system works for you here (mine works fine) to pass info back n' forth u can contact me through eBay messages I suppose through this listing:
Again, the adaptors for Area-51 / Aurora look like below:
MSI Gaming 5 specs say: 2 x 4-pin CPU fan connectors + 3 x 4-pin system fan connectors, so there will be a pair of cpu fan headers onboard, one for the kooler & one for your radiator fan; the above 7pin adaptor will be proper & all that u need for that mthrbrd, ok?

Hi Cass. I still cannot access my messages and I have asked Dell about it, If you have twitter we could speak their and we could talk more about that adapter you have. My twitter is @Jimzaay

I think that I am just going to get a new liquid cooler but I have 1 last question before I go through with this. Will I need a new PSU?

Again, it sounds like your project will include little if any Aurora parts & that you're almost all the way to building a new system. If you want to 'borrow' your Aurora PSU, then later buy a new one, put that psu back & sell your R4 you can. The Aurora PSU & case harness is removable, I don't have time to watch teardown vids, but there are 4 of them, PSU & case harness removal may be in there or not:
The center needs removed, then the hard drive bays removed (screws on wall & underneath case) so you can get to the sata connectors for removal; an extra long screwdriver is needed for the bays.
Here I've disassembled an entire R4 case harness & applied new PSU pins; the customer would pick out a new PSU, I would apply the correct modular fittings & wire it up right, that way a new PSU can be used in Aurora while taking advantage of correct tailor-made custom cable lengths. I've already measured the sata harness pair (below); were you to use your Aurora PSU & case harness in the new case, you will have to determine if the 19" / 480mm cable will reach your hard drive bay, if not, there are extensions you can buy (eBay UK etc). Otherwise the rest of the cables are of suitable length.
If u can get your case harness out u can most likely use your PSU in there. Far easier to leave it in there, & buy a new one when u get the Pounds Sterling. Did this help?
