Alienware Command Center not working on M17x R4

On the last few days, AlienFX it was working normally and I can changed the color with now worry. But then yesterday, I cannot change the color anymore. The first error message I received was "The device you have selected is included in the current theme but AlienFX cannot detect this device on your system. Do you want to remove this device from the current theme?". And of course, I can change things in AlienFX but it wont applied to the light. And the other error message was this image:

I uninstalled Alienware Command Center and installed the latest version on support site but still no in a dead end. Anyone can support me on this issue?

mydog2409,

What version of the Command Center did you load from the File Library? Have you tried creating a new theme from AlienFX?

The version is 2.8.8.0, A01-00, creating and a new theme and applying it wont work, that goes for my old theme too.

Hello mydog2409 ,

Try one more time.

- Uninstall the command center

- Power drain: Unplug ac adapter and any external devices, remove battery, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

- Reinstall the command center.

Hello Karen,

After uninstalled Command Center again, I cannot find anything to remove in both:

14.  From the Windows Explorer, access the path "C:/ProgramData/Alienware/CommandCenter/ThermalControls" and delete the Profile.xml file

and

15.  From the Windows Explorer, access the path "C:/Users/ /AppData/Local/Alienware/Alienware AlienFX/Themes" and delete all .ath extension files

Anyway, I still continue following your instruction but still no luck. Are there any options left for me?

Try the AlienFxTester.exe located in the command center installation path. If it fails then we might need to do a hardware replacement. If that's the case, send me a PM and I'll be glad to help you with that.

Hello Porras,

The AlienFxTester.exe gave me this result:

Firmware upgrade was automatically skipped and cannot be run, and it fail to set the LEDs to red or any other colors. It is also noted that my LEDs are functional because it still shown the color from my last working quick change theme. Now it just keeping that theme and cannot be changed.

That's weird, have you tried reinstalling Windows?

I have reinstalled Windows more than 4 times for the past 3 months. If this issue really needs reinstallation, I think I will pass that and leave it be.

Thanks for the help anyway.
