Alienware Graphics Amplifier does not boot at all. Only the USB hub works.
Hello everyone,
I had just received my AGA this week and there has been a slew of problems right off the bat. First and foremost, I can't get it to start up. Every time I connect the graphics cable to my Alienware 13, the Amp does not detect my external graphics card. ONLY THE USB HUB WORKS. I've tried searching everywhere online, but to no avail. It's not a faulty cable or device issue as I've tested two separate, functioning GPUs on two AGAs (my initial purchase and a replacement). Do note that both my initial AGA and the current replacement I have is a model 9R7XN, which I bought from Amazon.com in mint condition from Alienware.
My set up is as follows: Alienware 13 running Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i5-5200U Dual Core, Alienware BIOS ver. A04 UEFI, 8GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 5500 integrated GPU with Geforce GTX 960M as dedicated GPU.
The new graphics card I'm trying to install is an ASUS Dual Series Radeon RX460 2GB DDR5 OC Edition.
Here's what I've done so far:
Press the FN+F1 key
Installed the AMD/AGA drivers.
Installed the AGA Software.
Uninstalled the NVidia drivers with DDU.
Formatted to factory default settings, twice.
Wiped all personal data with a system reset.
Downgrade the BIOS to version A03 from A04
Reinstalled Alienware Command Center.
Installed various Dell/Alienware apps that came with the initial package.
In conclusion, I'm running out of ideas here. I desperately want my AGA to work, but it prompts an infinite restart cycle at best and says I've never connected an AGA at worst.
TL;DR: My AGA won't boot. I've tried everything I could think of. Please help.
