Alienware M11x

When I press the on button on my Alienware M11x I get a screen that says the following:

"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem, If power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows Normally.

(Use the arrow keys to highlight your choice.)

Launch Startup Repair (Recommended)

Start Windows Normally

and etc.

Either choice never reaches Windows loading. Selecting "Start Windows Normally" goes to black screen.

Is this a possible hard drive problem or something else? Any advice would much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

If the system has Windows 7, restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key repeatedly, so you can access recovery options. Try some of the options like: Last known good configuration, or also System Restore (to a previous point before the no boot issue ).

Also you can run an ePSA/Diagnostic test on the system, click here to view a Dell article that explains how to run this test. Let me know if you receive any errors.

Sorry for not getting back sooner.

Here are my results.

From the look of things, I need to replace the hard drive, right?
