Alienware M14 Issues

Hi everyone, had my Alienware m14 for a few years with no issue until recently. Initially my charger would not charge my battery but after replugging a few times it would work fine. However the other day the laptop wouldn't recognize the charger being plugged in at all and my battery was receiving no charge.

I bought another charger thinking it was just old and not working but alas, the same issue where the laptop does not recognize the charger and doesn't charge is still continuing. Any help with what might be the problem and what I could do would be great. Also I do not currently have warranty. Thanks.

Hi, 

Try doing a power drain. To do a power drain, follow the steps below. 

  • Turn the system off and disconnect the power cord. 
  • Disconnect the battery.
  • Disconnect all external devices (USB devices, headsets, external monitors, etc.).
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Connect everything again and turn on the system.
