Alienware M14X R2 SSD question

Hi I have an M14X R2 that came with the 64GB Samsung SSD + 1TB Western Digital HDD.  When I got the laptop I formatted it and used the 64GB Samsung as my OS drive instead of cache.  I recently replaced the 64GB Samsung with a 256GB Crucual M4 mSata ssd and noticed a significant increase in boot time.  I believe 4-5 seconds have been added to the original boot time.  Technically the 256GB Crucial M4 should be faster than the 64GB Samsung.  Is there a setting or settings that were used to set up the computer that I'm missing and causing this increase in boot time?
