Alienware M14x R3 secondary/additional hard-drive
Does anyone know if you can fit an M14x R3 with a second hard-drive? It would be good to have an SSD as well as the built in disk drive. I can see that it's possible for the R2 model by removing the optical disk drive.

Hello Paramaniac,
The Alienware M14xR3 should also support the secondary hard drive (Optical Drive bay). While researching, I came across this thread. Hope you find this helpful.
You may also refer to this video on how to add another HDD is the ODD bay: http://dell.to/15XIGfp.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your response, very helpful!
I noticed the guy in the video said the 2nd SATA slot is only SATA1 not 2 or 3. I think his model is the M14x R2. In the R3 model, which SATA version is the 2nd SATA slot?

Hello Paramaniac,
There is no such laptop as M14x R3. Please help me understand if you are referring to the new Alienware 14. If yes, it has a SATA 3 port.
Hope this helps!

Hello Paramaniac!
In the M14xR2 the secondary port will be SATA II.
