Hello Danprat!

Have you check on the video card temperature? It will be great if you take a look on this article, it will show you how to stress the video card so you can get the real temperature and determine if it's overheating.

When I was able to boot up again I checked the temps of both the processor and the graphics card and neither were above 56 degrees C before it crashed again.

Hey, would you mind clarifying a few things for me, please? :)

When the system shuts off, does it reboot on its own?

When you get the system back on, do you get a message that says something like "Windows has recovered from an unexpected error" or anything along those lines?

Have you updated to the latest system bios and drivers?

On the AC Adapter, have you noticed the LED Ring going out at any time?

Are you going to lay a finger on my butterfinger?

Thanks :)

It does not reboot.  The power simply shuts off and I am unable to boot again for about 5 minutes.  If I do hit the power button I hear a very faint cycle sound then nothing.  Sometimes the keyboard will light up half a second or so.

Windows says nothing when I do get it booted up.  If I look at the reliability history in windows 8.0 it just says windows experienced an unexpected shutdown.  Nothing more.

All drivers and bios are up to date, I also managed to re-install windows without a crash but it hasn't solved the issue.

AC Adapter appears to be running normally, the blue light on the ring stays on all the time.

I really can't nail down what the issue is.

Anyone?

The oddest part seems to be that I can't reboot or shutdown properly.  It will shutdown instead of rebooting, and once it's off I'm unable to power it back on for what seems to be a random amount of time.  When I hit the power button there's a small stir but then nothing.  Once in awhile it will start after a few minutes, but occasionally it's half the day before it will power back on.

My warranty expired earlier in the year so I don't really know where to take it from here.

The best thing to do would be to contact tech support about sending it in. There are a great deal of issues that can be causing your problem.

You may be overheating, mind you not everything has a temp sensor on it so some parts overheat and shut the system down and when its too hot the system won't boot back on.

You may also have an issue with the power supply. It may be causing a power surge or any number of things.

You may also have a bad motherboard, or bad components.

There are any number of things, and honestly, you may be doing more damage than good the longer you let it go on.

I would encourage to check a BSOD view http://download.cnet.com/BlueScreenView/3000-2094_4-10965136.html

Your issue may be caused by windows shutting itself off to protect itself, and the dump files can be viewed using viewers that can also help identify the issue.

If you download program, please report back with results.
