Alienware Update repeats BIOS Update

Each month, my Alienware Update re-installs my system BIOS with the same version. Anybody got any clues as to how to stop that?

Alienware 17 r4 System; BIOS Ver. 1.2.1; Date    10/24/2017

Hey,

If it is only Support Assist app problem why CPU-Z and BIOS settings says wrong date?

It is not only Support Assist app problem it is also a BIOS problem because the dates are wrong.

I'm having this same BIOS issue but the one I'm really trying to resolve is not being able to update Windows 10 to the latest fall creators update. I'm stuck at: 1703 with 1709 perpetually failing. Anybody else have this?

Well...

I finally got busy and *Manually* downloaded BIOS version 1.2.3 directly from Dell. That installed correctly, and Speccy reports:

Brand    Alienware
Version    1.2.3
Date    12/11/2017

I do not think the discrepancy between the Release date and the BIOS date is a large issue.

I also re-enabled the automatic updates that seems to be scheduled for the 27th of this month. We'll see what happens then.

As for the Win 10 FORCED update, I have no idea what to do about that, possibly you need to start another thread with that as a topic title.

Cheers,

Bob

Nahh I didn't have problem updating to fall creators - you might try a start fresh or even the recovery format from BIOS?

Did the same as you just now and I agree that the date discrepancy is probably not a big deal. After flashing I ran the Support Assistant again just to see and of course it signals that I need a BIOS update.  LOL. Anyway, thanks for posting your correspondence with Dell tech. Good to know they're aware of it.

I dunno if it is a big deal or not the problem is that the dates are wrong and it regards the BIOS so..
