Alienware Windows 7 boot background

Hi all,

since i lost my Alienware factory installation, i lost forever those beautiful and unique background owned by every Alienware owner. I will really appreciate, if someone like to share the alien boot background, end even the alienware desktop background.

Usually the boot background is in this windows seven folder:

C:\Windows\System32\oobe\background

Use imageshack or send me a mail if it's possible.

Thanks so much.

You can download them here if you lost them from a reinstall of windows:

http://support.alienware.com/Support_Pages/Restricted_Downloads/Alienware%20M17X%20Custom%20Package.zip

It says M17X on it, but it works on all PCs, even non Alienware computers. It will restore all the original wallpapers, but the only thing it will not restore is the logon wallpaper. But I can upload that for you here:

http://img194.imageshack.us/content_round.php?page=done&l=img194/9272/alienwarelogon.jpg&via=mupload

It looks almost the same as the one in the installer, but the ALIENWARE text is actually a bit lower and out of the way of the User Login Icon.

And you can use this program to change the wallpaper of the logon screen to the Alienware wallpaper:

Hope that helps.

There is no virus in that package. I dont know how your virus scanner is picking one up. Mine doesnt detect anything. Its just a bunch of wallpapers LOL. And it is from Dell/Alienware support website, so it is just a fluke. A lot of virus scanners pick up everything nowadays.

I dont think Dell/Alienware would put viruses in their own software.......or would they? LOL.

I would just disable it and try to install the wallpapers if anything. I am using Microsoft Security Essentials and Norton Gaming edition and get no virus alerts.

I agree with your argument.

By the way, after run the exe, all stops on a windows that say something like..Not enough memory to run the program...on an Alienware desktop make me laugh :-) I'll post a picture soon.

So, two point: The exe don't run, and McAfee detect a problem.

Here the picture with the message:"Extracting file failed. It's mostly like caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted Cabinet file."

Strange.

It's definetively a McAfee's false positive.

Norton and  ZoneAlarm neither detect a virus in this archive.

My apologize if i was suspicious.

Thx so much for your advice.
