Alienware X51 R1 unable to boot from CD
I noticed lately that my x-51 R1 running Windows 7, is unable to boot from the CD/DVD drive in UEFI mode. I tried it with a Linux CD for class, and I am currently trying to reset my fathers old HP MediaSmart Server via a recovery disc and in both attempts the Computer will boot straight from the HDD.
Boot setup is CD/DVD, USB CD/DVD, HDD.
BIOS is in UEFI
Computer runs Intel i3-2120 3.3 GHz, Windows 7 Home Premium, bought in December 2012.
Any help would be appreciated, I will try to answer all questions asked as well.
Calling Customer Service would be nice, but they try to make me pay...

The UEFI Boot sequence doesn't take too kindly to optical drives. It is better to make a bootable USB using Rufus:

See here for an example:

If making recovery media using the latest version of Alienware Respawn ensure that you use USB media (USB flash drive or USB external hard drive) and not a DVD:

Are you trying to boot from the CD by pressing F12 at the start up?
