Alienware X51 R2 - How to install Command Center on Fresh Win 8 Pro install
I just got my new Alienware X51 yesterday. I usually dont like any bloatware on it, so I changed the bios settings to legacy boot, used my windows 8 pro DVD, completely formatted hard drives, and then installed Win 8 pro. However now when I try to install the Alienware Command Center (from http://ftp.dell.com/Pages/Drivers/alienware-x51-all.html) for the X51, it will not install. It says something like it is not compatible. I am downloading the first option that says it is compatible with Win 8. I wonder if it does not work with Win 8 Pro?

It still does not work. It says "installation package is not compatible with this platform. I really hope I can find an Alienware Comand Center that works as I really want to change the color lighting.

I got it working without creating a new user account! I installed the alienware command center and it worked. I basically went to:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/Product/alienware-x51/
And then had it search for my service tag automatically. After it found it, it now displays all the correct drivers for my Win 8 Pro installation.
