Alienware X51-R2: Supported Audio Sample Rates from Realtek Audio Driver

For some reason, the Realtek Audio Driver no longer can supports sample rates higher than 48kHz to work with my external digital DAC (Audioengine D1).

In other words, 96 kHz and 192 kHz no longer produce sound.  And, yes, the Audioengine D1 supports sample rates right up to 192 kHz.

In the past, the Realtek Audio Driver supported these sample rates.  Suddenly, it's not working.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Herb...

I'm using "Manage Audio Devices" from Control Panel.  Yes, drivers were reinstalled and I've selected both 96 kHz and 192 kHz and tested it.   Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I'm thinking there might be a handshaking issue with the external DAC as it seems to be intermittent.

Try this : go into the Windows Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > (device) > Properties and click the Supported Formats tab and then select 192.0 kHz
