Alienware X51 R3 (Windows 10) - How do you create a restore disk?

I am trying to create a restore disc before installing software, but I don't see AlienRespawn installed or any DELL backup utility, is there another way of doing this in Windows 10?

I would like to have a backup restore disc handy just in case of an emergency.

Thanks.

Hi,

We would recommend using the Dell Backup and Recovery software. If it’s not already on your computer you can download it here.

If that does not work, you can also create a recovery disk through Microsoft directly.

Please let us know if further assistance is needed.

Thanks, Alex.

Is the Dell Backup and Recovery software compatible with Windows 10?

It sure is. AlienRespawn on the other hand is not, that’s most likely why you couldn’t find it.

Alex, on the Dell backup link it's not showing that's it's compatible with Windows 10 or the R3 version of the X51. Is this the only way this can be done on Dell? (see below)

How can I restore the system to factory settings on Windows 10 for the X51 R3? Is there a step by step process?

It seems like Dell Back-up and Recovery for Windows 10 only works on upgraded systems, not on factory installed Windows 10 computers (Article). In that case you can try using the Windows tools in order to create the restore disks. You can also check two other links explaining how to do it on Windows 10.
