Hi!

I suggest you run an ePSA diagnostic and an HDtune benchmark (run on Safe Mode). Let me know the results of the ePSA diagnostic and attach a screenshot of the benchmark if possible.

Ok i have finished running all HDtune Pro tests and everything also is fine it says.

I dont know if this extra info helps but after I bought this system I loaded a SSD into it and cloned the HDD to the SSD.

Hello Naomi and thanks for responding. I have ran the ePSA test and everthing turned out to fine.

I am having trouble getting into safe mode because of frequent SSD freezing so I will run HDtune outside safemode.

It seems to me that my SSD will freeze when I use software or if software starts to access my caching it seems.

Everything helps! Thank you for providing such thorough information.

The SSD seems fine. Have you tried an AlienRespawn to restore the software to factory settings?

Thank you Naomi. So nope I have not tried a factory reset because I use my Alienware for 3D and Graphic arts and to set all this software back up can take days. so I am looking to exhaust all my other options first before I do a factory reset on my SSD.

sorry for double post lag probably.

You can also try a Clean Boot. If the problem is being cause by an specific application or software, this can help us determine the source.

Considering that no hardware errors have come up so far, I think the factory reset would be the next step to troubleshoot the software.

Hmm I don't know how a clean boot will change anything since my system freezes during boot screen before windows 8 loading screen.

Ok I will do a factory reset but before that I need to know a few things.

1. when I bought this system I cloned the OS from the HDD and put it on a SSD I brought shortly after, could this be the reason for the freezing?

2. My system freezes in only a few ways when ever the power cord is removed or plugged in while there are possess going on, when ever I use the web browser for some time, when ever my system seems to be accessing cache or ram.

the last way it freezes I don't know how but it seems to me my system stores something in its cache or ram so the system can boot back up faster but some type of error happens and it freezes in boot wile accessing the cache or ram from the SSD.

If any of my issues ring a bell please let me know there might be a way to fix this without a factory reset.

In that case, you might try uninstalling: ST Microelectronics Motion Sensor

If still problems:

If you have Intel-RST installed, try updating to the latest Intel.com version. However, if it's not already installed ... I WOULD NOT install it and I would move on to other troubleshooting and solutions.

You can also install the Kingston Tools and check your SSD Firmware version and they might have a tester.

thx Tesla for your suggestions but I still have no luck. I have checked for ST ST Microelectronics Motion Sensor cant find it, I do have intel RST installed but i dont think its built to do anything more than monitor my SSD which is a kingston V200 and my HDD which is a western Digital. I checked my intel RST software and it says everything is ok to.

I have a feeling there is something I can do to fix this without a factory reset. have I exhausted all my options yet?

I do have intel RST installed

When installed, it replaces the standard Microsoft SATA/HDD driver with the Intel-RST Sata driver. Pretty major low-level change. The Intel-RST driver has a completely different architecture.

Unless Intel changed it recently, it can't really be un-installed. Even if you un-install the app front-end ... the core-driver stays behind.

Probably not related to your problem, but see this thread. It's tricky to get everything working on that machine.

Ya, update to latest version from Intel.com .

To get rid of it completely, I think you have to clean install Windows and choose to never install it.
