Hi Luisv5,

I would suggest that you run the diagnostics on the computer by following the steps mentioned below and check if there is any issue with the hardware on your system.

1. Turn on or restart the computer.

2. Immediately at the Dell logo screen, starting tapping the key once a second until the One Time Boot menu appears (if the computer boots to Windows turn the computer off and try again).

3. At the One Time Boot menu, press the arrow key to highlight Diagnostics, PSA+ or Enter ePSA, then press to begin the hardware Diagnostics.

4. Write down any error codes listed. Reply to us with the error codes.

Hi Luisv5,

I would suggest you to perform manual operating system reinstallation on the system. Please refer to the link below for the instructions.

Pleas let me know if this helps.

I will try to do it this weekend (so I can also have time to test it).
I will be posting results as soon as i get some results.

Btw, I've been searching and I am having a very similar problem from the one of this forum (from the exception of the crackling sound and fps drop, mine just suddenly crashes after 5-10 min of gaming): http://www.alienwarearena.com/forums/topic/47000/hardware/major-issues-with-my-new-alienware-x51/ (I even have exactly the same specs as his alienware [i5 3330 , 8gigs of ram, 1 t Hdd, 1.5 gb gtx 660].)
I have even tried every solution of this post and yet, my computer is still crashing.

Set pci-e gen3 in the Bios to disable,  reboot and see if that helps.

Note to support reps please consult your teams about the pci-e gen3 fix.

I disable the pci-e 3 one week ago but my computer keeps crashing when gaming ( and sometimes when doing simple tasks like websurfing). Maybe i have a faulty graphics card or Moba.

Ok, i did re-install windows and my computer keeps crashing.

After talking to a dell rep. for 2 hours(literally) he told me that i have a faulty graphics card....

Btw, i found that I still have warranty, but in order to receive help I have to transfer the original owner account to mine, the problem here is that as i got it from mercadolibre(Mexican eBay) and the guy who sell it to me have not got me the details of the 'orginal' owner.
