Also encountered a similar problem to the original poster, have an Alienware 15 I just recently purchased.
Was playing Binding of Isaac/Our Darker Purpose for the first time, and noticed that when I press any 2 keys of WASD, and press either of the corresponding Arrow Keys (W + Up, A + left, S + Down, D + Right) that the keys do not respond (as in press W and A, then Up and Left will not respond, etc.). I also changed key bindings from the arrow keys to IJKL, and the issue disappears, so apparently some genius decided putting the WASD and the arrow keys on the same circuit for a max of 2 keys pressed at once was a good idea at least for my keyboard....
Looked into this and it seems that this is possibly a design flaw of the keyboard (came from a much cheaper Lenovo Y510 that had NO ISSUE with this problem). If someone could confirm if this is a technical flaw for ALL alienware 15 keyboards, or I just got a lemon and need it to be replaced, I would appreciate it.
I have installed intellitype like alienware rep said, and no change, if this is not a lemon keyboard, apparently alienware did not test this keyboard out at all with all with all archetypes of gaming (many games use WASD and Arrow keys concurrently)

Looking at the article, it has a pass fail combos.
Can the ones labelled as pass be used together?
My combo using @ or # are not listed as either pass or fail.

That is very interesting to hear Bloodpainter. Thanks for the info.
I also use WASD combo for up left down right.
My friend also has an AW17 and it has the same problem so I am assuming it is affecting all of them.
Very badly thought out for laptop which is sold as a gaming laptop.

My @ key loads up " on my 18x can not find an answer , that's the only key that I have a problem with

You are having ghost issue... Install all windows updates. Do a dell assit test to check if the keyboard is fine
