Area-51 ALX case wont open, stuck security latch.
I bought some new ram today and wanted to install it.
the problem: Tech support was not helpful. The latch below the security cable knob is stuck on the left side. Not sure if thats where it SHOULD be stuck if i want to unlock it, however the manual says it needs to be on the right. I tried using a screw driver for leverage against it, with no success. I called tech support who said the position of the latch didn't matter... not sure if thats true or not. If it doesnt matter that leaves the issue of the top release panel not doing its job, Those are stuck as well though i believe it has something to do with the latch mentioned earlier. In any case it's a 5,500 dollar system, and a purchase im beginning to regret. I need someone to help me before i make the rash decision to throw it out the window.

Sounds like the new Security Lock might be attached. It's easy to remove ... search forum for pics. IIRC, you un-screw a little screw from the middle.

wow that worked like a dream. I just removed it and the latch snapped back over to the right, then i lifted the panel and voila. I appreciate the help!
